About Gua Sha therapy
Just as the muscles in the body need exercise, stretching, stimulation & massaging to keep them functioning at the optimum, so do the muscles of our faces. This board helps to reduce fine lines & wrinkles by massaging tense facial muscles, it also encourages lymphatic drainage reducing puffiness & increases blood flow to the face resulting in plump, glowing skin. Preliminary studies have shown it up regulates the expression of heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1), a gene responsible for cell protection & oxidative stress reduction. Daily use provides an opportunity to improve skin integrity, slow down & give gratitude to the things our body does for us on a daily basis.
The board can also be used on the body using Gua Sha technique (fire remains pressure on body where visible blood flow to surface is seen) on areas like the on neck, shoulders, back, arms & legs with to reduce pain, muscle stiffness, encourage blood flow/ muscle oxygenation & encourage joint mobility.
Bian Stone
Bian stone is said to be the precursor to acupuncture where the stones were heated and placed along meridians on the body to stimulate Qi. Bian stone therapy has been recorded in The Inner Canon of the Yellow Emperor (also known as Huangdi Neijing), a pivotal Traditional Chinese Medical text dating back 2,000 years. Each stone is unique & some may have fine mineral streaks that run through the stone, these are not cracks.
Agate Stone
Agate is said to have metaphysical properties of balancing Yin & Yang, harmonizing, cleansing and stabilizing qualities. Each stone is unique & some colpour variations can occur.
